2014 Summer School
The Lumberjack High School, in conjunction with Bemidji High School and 21st Century programming, will be offering students the opportunity to obtain credit toward high school graduation requirements in the following areas: English, math, social studies, science, modified math and reading.

The summer session will begin on Monday, June 9th and will conclude July 17. Summer school classes will meet Mondays through Thursdays. Students will begin classes at 8:25 a.m. and will end at 12:10 p.m. Lunch will be provided starting on June 16th at Bemidji Middle School. Parents may pick-up their students at Bemidji Middle School at 12:30 or Bemidji High School at 12:10.

We need to know how many students will be attending this summer session, so we may hire teachers to meet the needs of the students enrolled. Although, we may be able to accept a student up until the first day of classes, you will improve your chances of finding space if you register early. We are encouraging all students who are behind to attend this summer session to recover credits and get “back on track” to graduate with their class. Attendance is critical for obtaining credit during the short summer school schedule.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jennifer Voge at 444-1600 ext. 3373 or jvoge@bemidji.k12.mn.us.

Congrats BHS!
Bemidji High School is one of the best in Minnesota, according to U.S. News and World Report.

On Tuesday, April 22, the publication released its 2014 rankings of American high schools, identifying the best based on Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate exams along with ranking our Reading and Math MCA test scores.

In Minnesota, Bemidji was ranked number 22 out of more than 600 high schools. Nationally, Bemidji High School ranked 1003rd.

A report released earlier this year by the College Board shows that number of Minnesota students taking Advanced Placement (AP) courses has almost doubled over the past decade. Last year, 11,497 passed the exam - almost twice the number of students who passed it a decade ago.

Welcome to BHS
Wecome to the Bemidji High School web site. Bemidji High School, home of the Lumberjacks, serves approximately 1500 students in grades 9-12. Constructed in 2000, the 200 acre scenic campus is located on the Mississippi River in the heart of the northern lake country.

The mission of Bemidji High School is to empower learners to succeed in our diverse and changing world. To accomplish this we offer learning experiences that enhance and encourage the self-concept, knowledge and skills necessary for each student to pursue his/her dreams and to live successful lives.

The goal of Bemidji High School is to ensure that all students who begin as ninth grade students will graduate with the skills necessary to attend college without the need to take remedial courses in the areas of reading, writing, or mathematics once enrolled in college.

Our staff is student centered and work diligently for student success. In addition to our required coursework students have many choices in the areas of the performing and visual arts, business education, industrial technology, consumer and military sciences and world language. Bemidji High School offers a very successful and extensive Advanced Placement program. We collaborate with Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College in offering College in the High School courses/credit as well as advanced standing credit. Extra curricular opportunities are available in music, sports, various clubs and activities.

Bemidji High School has a strong history of success in academics, athletics and fine arts. Each spring scholarships totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars are awarded to graduating students who have achieved academic excellence. These awards are evidence of the importance of education as viewed by students, parents, educators, and the greater Bemidji community. Students consistently score above the state, regional and national average, attesting the constant pursuit of academic excellence. During the 2012-2013 school year, Bemidji High School was named to both the Newsweek & U.S. News & World Report as one of the best high schools in the state and Nation! We are honored and fortunate to be among such a professional faculty and talented student body.
